ECO Update - March 2013

Due to the complex nature of ECO and the challenges that have arisen within it, a delay in funding within the energy efficiency market has been inevitable. However, Effective Energy is noticing an upturn in the availability of funding and is keen to speak to partners to progress with schemes and projects. We anticipate that over the next month, the market will majorly improve and we will be able to discuss realistic funding levels and opportunities.

Effective Energy Builds Presence in Scotland

Effective Energy has successfully worked with clients in England and Wales to deliver over four million tonnes of carbon to date. We are now looking to increase the number of partners in Scotland due to the introduction of Coleen McKay who has been appointed in the role of Business Development Manager for Scotland and the North East.

Effective Energy Acquires 'Approved Green Deal Assessor' Status

Effective Energy is now an Approved Green Deal Assessor Organisation (GDAO) with the Green Deal Oversight and Registration Body (GD ORB). With this status, we can legally employ Green Deal Assessors to carry out Green Deal assessments on properties requiring a loan. A Green Deal assessment has to be carried out by a registered assessor and is a required step for those wanting to get access to Green Deal finance. Green Deal assessments can also be used as a way to access ECO funding.

In the coming weeks, Effective Energy will be a registered Green Deal Provider. We will be able to provide competitive Green Deal finance to those wishing to upgrade the energy efficiency of their housing stock or property.

ECO Update - December 2012

ECO is offering new challenges - in particular, targeting non-traditional builds and solid-walled properties. Within the last few weeks, ECO was passed by law, so Effective Energy is now starting to get ECO schemes in place.

Green Deal Bulletin Update: Latest Green Deal Guidance and Revisions

Green Deal Government Communication Campaign

'Ahead of the first Green Deals being available on 28 January 2013, DECC has secured an exemption from the Government-wide marketing freeze with money for a new communications campaign to build understanding and trust in the Green Deal. An initial £2.9million will cover digital and traditional channels aimed at unifying partners and activating stakeholders in the supply chain. The Campaign will be aimed at making the Green Deal and the Quality Mark more visible, as well as encouraging those considering home improvements to take up the Green Deal. This will happen through a series of launch events nationally/regionally, developing a stronger digital presence, and advertising though print and digital press.  The campaign will be informed by segmentation research [link] commissioned by DECC to ensure the campaign is targeted at the right people in the right way.'

PAS 2030 Accreditation

PAS 2030 (Publicly Available Specification) provides guidance on installing, managing and providing energy efficiency measures in existing buildings. Installers of energy efficiency measures under the Green Deal and ECO will need to be PAS 2030 accredited in order to access funding. It also recommends the most appropriate ways to manage installation processes and providing services to the customer before, during and after installation and may also be of interest to others, including Green Deal Providers. PAS 2030 provides a robust and common specification that demonstrates compliance, as well as ensuring that the energy efficiency measures installed meet customer expectations.
