Standards & Regulations

PAS 2030

Effective Energy is currently working with Approved Contractors to ensure that they are PAS 2030 accredited in order to deliver schemes under ECO funding.

PAS 2030 (Publicly Available Specification) provides guidance on installing, managing and providing energy efficiency measures in existing buildings. Installers of energy efficiency measures under the Green Deal and ECO will need to be PAS 2030 accredited in order to access funding.

To become PAS 2030 accredited, the organisation must be able to demonstrate that its quality management system is run in accordance to the specification. An on-site assessment of the installation will form part of the process.

OFGEM

Ofgem regulates the electricity and gas markets in Great Britain, protecting consumers and regulating the interests of gas and electricity companies in the reduction of greenhouse gases.

It’s Ofgem’s role to ensure that ECO funding is placed in a controlled and fair way to meet Government regulations. Ofgem created the codes of conduct which energy efficiency grants can be claimed through and enforced best practice.

The main focus on the funding market is to enforce the Government ECO legislation and govern the way in which energy suppliers meet their obligation to make sure that it is the most vulnerable and fuel poor homes which are allocated the appropriate funding. Ofgem also determine what measures and standards are required for funding eligibility.

Effective Energy follows the industry guidelines set by Ofgem and incorporates their procedures and guidelines in all our work to ensure we meet the set regulations. As such, the grant funding we provide comes with the necessary compliance to exceed Ofgem’s expectations.

Technical inspections

Ofgem stipulates that of ECO funding claims, a percentage of this must be subject to a technical inspection to ensure the energy saving measure has been installed correctly.

Effective Energy provides technical inspections in compliance with Ofgem for all the grant funding we provide through our suppliers. This service comes at no additional cost to you and follows the inspection process set by Ofgem.

Customer satisfaction

Ofgem stipulates that of ECO funding claims a percentage of this must be subject to a customer satisfaction survey to ensure the energy saving measure has been installed to the satisfaction of the household.

Effective Energy provides customer satisfaction in compliance with Ofgem for all the grant funding we provide through our suppliers. This service comes at no additional cost to you and follows the process set by Ofgem.

Building regulations

Building regulations set standards for design and construction which apply to most new buildings and many alterations to existing buildings in England and Wales. These regulations continually change as we move towards developing sustainable homes.

We understand that you may be looking to upgrade your housing stock, and while we appreciate the standards set by building regulations, we can ensure not only the design of a scheme which meets the current regulations, but one which incorporates the compliance and technical infrastructure to maximise the funding which can be claimed as a result of this scheme.

Health & safety

Effective Energy consider health and safety to be of the highest regard in their industry. Not only are we ourselves registered with the relevant industry bodies, we demand that all our Approved Contractors are inspected for health and safety and are also registered with the relevant bodies to maintain the highest standards.
